I usually give everyone several chances. I have 2 birds that are rescues that got a second shot and they are both very happy. They had a few things to learn, but they did and everything is fine.

I believe in second chances for everyone just as long as the subject, be it a bird or a person, is willing to learn new skills to avoid the same mistakes. k everyone deserves a second chance don't they??!

Old birds are beautiful and no different than an old man. Of course you should. Any behavioral problems the bird may have are not the bird's fault, rather the fault of the owner or previous owner's. if you take the time to train and gain the trust of the bird, you will find that you will have a beautiful, entertaining companion for life. Nobody likes a tough old bird especially at Christmas. Lame ducks are useless. And a chicken that does not lay eggs, Well dont even get me started. I have no time for old birds. Get a nice fresh new one. wink wink nudge nudge!! IT all depends on what Cinda of a dumb old Bird. Sure, I guess, why not? why not! everyone deserves a second chance. I think you should take the "dumb old bird" to a shelter where someone can give it a good home with a "smart pet owner"
