I don't specifically know why this happens but if your birds lay eggs and hatch them, them leave them alone. if this doesn't help you may just have pad parents. Not all birds are natural breeders even in the same species. once the chicks hatch, you may have to take over feeding them yourself with a syringe. Many professional pet stores can coach you on this technique. How long has it been since they have looked aftered them?
