Brief：
i have 2 parrakeets a male and a female!!they have been french kissing many times i think shes going to have a baby but i heard you need a tiny house .. 

20"x12"x18" for 1 Bird

The space between the bars is also quite important. If they are too wide, you can guess what will happen, the bird will get out. The budgie may also get his head or body stuck if it tries to squeeze through the bars. To prevent this from happening, make sure that the spaces between the bars are no wider than ? inch. Some budgie enthusiasts also recommend that you get a cage with horizontal bars and to avoid those with only vertical bars. This is especially so when the cage is small, since the budgie will do more walking & climbing than flying. The horizontal bars help the budgie to get a better grip when climbing on the cage. I"m not sure it has been mentioned here, but what are you going to do with parakeet chicks? Have you thought how you're going to get rid of them? Give them away? It may not be as easy as you think.

I rescued a male and female parakeet that were housed in the same cage.they are still in the same cage because they were bonded together and I knew it would be traumatic to separate them.

So to PREVENT or DISCOURAGE them from breeding, I did not put a breeding box/nestbox in the cage and they get at least 12 hours of sleep. I cover them up and turn the light out.

Birds instinct to breed is based on the amount of light (artificial or real sunlight) that they are exposed to.so if they are awake for more than 12 hours a day on a consistent basis, their hormones tell them it's summertime and it's time to make babies.

Just something for you to think about. My parakeets still feed each other and exhibit other sexual behavior on occasion, but they do not breed/lay eggs.
