Why would my in/outdoor cat star..

my cat has always gone out and come back in a short time.Now,my cat has been leaving and not coming back for hours at a time.When she does she will ea.. 

my cat has always gone out and come back in a short time.Now,my cat has been leaving and not coming back for hours at a time.When she does she will eat.So, I don't know if someone else is feeding her or what.She has been spayed.She was wild when we got here and she insisted on us taking care of her.We never had liked cats before but now we love her to death.We have had her for about a year and a half now.She is spoided rotten and gets plenty of attention.She was run up a tree by a big German Shepard a couple days ago and since then is when she has been leavng for long periods of time.We had not seen the dog before and have not seen it since.We don't even know where the dog lives.

There are a couple of things that might be going on.

1) She might just be exploring. I hope your cat is spayed, because if she is not, she is going to come home and have a litter of kittens sometime in the near future. If she is just exploring, that's what cats do! She is feeling comfortable enough to go off and do what she wants, then return to you when she is done. That's how cats are.

2) She might be cheating on you. There may be a family somewhere else that thinks she is a stray. Maybe they are feeding her, possibly letting her inside their house during the day! Try putting a collar and id tag on her next time you let her out. Make sure the collar is one of the breakaway ones so if she gets caught on a tree limb or something it will fall off instead of trapping her. Sounds like she is just being adventurous, I wouldn't worry to much it is a cats nature to explore. She may have even made a friend down the street and that is where she is going and staying awhile. Just keep looking out for her and if you think she is being chased or something again keep her inside for a day or two to help her feel better. hey dnt worry my cat wa wild too and stays out all night sometime it totally normal. yes it probably has found somewhere to stay for a while by that i mean like some person givving it food ect. ur doing the best u can by givving it lots of attention n love so ur cat will always know where itz propper home is. just give ur cat a little space.n dnt worry. XxX IF SHE IS SPAYED AND WAS WILD, SHE IS MORE THAN LIKELY JUST OUT ADVENTURING AROUND. I WOULD NOT BE TO CONCERNED UNLESS SHE IS COMING HOME HURT OR REALLY SKIDDISH. She is probally just getting used to the neighborhood. My kitty did the same thing. Just give her lots of attention when she does come home. Just dont make the mistake i did. There was cunstruction going on at my neighbor's house , and she didnt come back all day. Dont put her out at those kind of times. Thanks. Hope you see your kitty more often!
