Will our recently neutered male ..

Our 6 mo old male cat was recently neutered. When picked up, the vet tech told us to keep him away from our female spayed cats for a few days because .. 

Our 6 mo old male cat was recently neutered. When picked up, the vet tech told us to keep him away from our female spayed cats for a few days because he would become aroused. I never heard anything like this before. Is this common? I've never raised a male cat (only females), so I don't know what to expect from his behavior. Any advice would help.

Sure it can happen. My male cat has been neutered for a few years and he tries to make the business with our female (spayed) cat. It's actually a little funny to watch. Before we got the female I used to wake up to him humping my leg every morning. Eww. I had a male nuetered, but I don't have any female cats. The vet just said not to let him do any jumping (as if you can stop the little buggers). I don't know about around the spayed females. We have had a cat, Bubba. We had him neutered. One of our cats, Poozie, came into heat.we saw him jump up onto the window sill where Poozie was yowling away and presenting, and have a 'go' at her. She shut right up thinking she was going to have kittens now. We called our vet and he said that Bubba was neutered not dead (ha ha). We had never seen that before, but he assured us it was normal. He never had any reaction to any of our spayed females. Maybe its just to lrt him heal completely before he's "active". Once neutered he can't " get the job done" I've known neutered males who become aroused by their human's forearm..if you know what I mean!
