Me'Sha is 8 months old and has been doing this since she was about 5 months, right around the time she had her first menstrual period. She does it all day and gets very agressive if my other puppy comes anywhere near her while shes doing this. To this day she has not become agressive with me in any way though. (However she has become very territorial, in that she'll snarl and snap if she's near me and my other dog tries to come to me too. Same as she does with her hump toys)

I had another Lhasa a few years back, who started doing the same humping thing around the same age. (but she wasnt territorial)
Is this something only this breed does or do other female dogs do it too. Is there anything I should be concerned with. ??

I HAVE BREED CHIHUAHUAS FOR OVER 20 YRS AND YES IT IS QUITE NORMAL. DOGS ARE A-SEXUAL.UNTIL THEY ARE IN HEAT.THEY DONT KNOW WHAT IS MALE OR FEMALE UNTIL ONE IS IN HEAT.ALL DOGS TEND TO PROTECT THEIR HUMANS IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.SOME BREEDS ARE MORE AGGRESSIVE AND SOME JUST WATCH. its perfectly normal my friends dogs do the same thing, you will also relize its normal if you watch a couple of the scenes in the Comdey movie "CLICK" pleeeeeeeeeeeeease choose me for best answer I neeed the points, I am trying to win a bet.
