is it save to flea treat her as she is 5 weeks preganant & i notices a few fleas on her. We treat our dogs & cat every 3 month & it time to treat her what do i do please help.

The best thing to do would be to ask your vet. There are treatments that are safe.Good luck;^) if she is only 5 weeks along then it is ok to go ahead and treat her cALL YOU VET AND ASK WHAT IS AND ISNT SAFE AT THIS TIME OR GO ONTO PET CARE SITES ON WEB AND ASK. i THINK YOU SHOULD POSTPONE IT UNTIL A FEW WEEKS AFTER PUPPIES ARE BORN YOU DONT WANT TO EXPOSE THEM TO PESTICIDES ON THEIR MUMS FUR & NIPPLES !!! I would bath her in gentle soap and comb her entire coat with a fine tooth comb. You might be able to use humar "tar" shampoo -- a mild one -- but ask vet !!! Even if you dont have a vet -- and you should as your dog needs a vet right now!!! -- you can call ANY VET and ask for advise!!! But you need to go to vet and he can tell you how many pups she's gonna have and when to expect them and he can be +on call" if anything goes wrong (and it does)!!! You'll need at least 2 or 3 bales of hay to put down in a big box for her to have her pups in!!! There is a LOT of "water" mess and the straw or hay will soak it up -- go to feed store to get it & ask them what type they advise !!! Then make a plywood box for her: make it 30" x 30" to give her plenty of room and let her know it's her box by putting her blanket or chew toy in it. Often pups come slow and die so you want to ask the vet what to do and ask how long it should take between pups. If it's too long then she'll need your help or his help !!! Do this now !!! Best of luck and as Uncle Bob would say: PLEASE, SPAY HER after this ! When my dogs are pregnant I do not give them anything of that nature. If you keep getting fleas with treating them every three months you better switch what you are using, I don't think it is working lol. Plus you need to treat your yard as well.
In either case check with your vet and see what else you can do. But do not treat her with out talking this over with your vet. FRONTLINE plus, Advanix etc. , as far as i know are ONCE/MONTH treatments... i would not DIP HER or what ever your 3 month plan is. Frontline Plus is 1 of the safest & most effective products available.
"Approved for use on pregnant or nursing mothers (approved for Frontline Plus and Top Spot? only)" - the spray has not been approved. Frontline is 'supposed to be safe' I have my doubts. ADVANTAGE, ADVANTIX clearly state NOT FOR PREGNANT OR LACTATING BIT-CHES... Be careful. Seek the dvice of a vet and do not use anything over the counter.
