She gave her dog a nibble of ham Sunday morning and had a seisure yesterday morning.(Monday). The dog, as far as she knows never had seizures. She has had him since spring, and he is 4 years old.When she went to work today, co-workers told her ham will cause seizures. She knew about chocolate, but can ham do that 24 hours later? It was sandwich ham. She did call the vet, and they said wait till there is another before bringing him in. Thanks, and I will share your answers with her.

Ham is not going to cause it --it could be a number of things causing it though--She needs to write it down every time he has one--What time of day it is-how often-duration of the seizure and so on and take that to the vet with her next time she goes--IF this is something happening often she needs to take him in ASAP--there are medications to help DEPENDING on the cause.. Good luck i have a yellow lab that has epilepsy and he was since he was a puppy. he use to have seizures really bad, but now he's on medication. that could be it. TRY GIVING IT MORE HAM TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS No, ham won't cause seizures. He may have epilepsy, but she probably shouldn't worry about it unless he has more.
