He is a BABY AND SHOULD NOT BE OUTSIDE BY HIMSELF! There should be classes for people to take before they can get a pet! There should be laws against some people having pets! WOULD YOU PEOPLE LEAVE A NEW BORN OUTSIDE BY ITSELF? YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE BEING VERY CRUEL TO THIS LITTLE PUPPY!! it's SICKENING! you shouldeb`t keep him outside in bad weather and let him inside a lot and give him attention or he could hungry or thirsty! why isnt he inside?? he's six weeks! if you got him yesterday sepnd alot of time with him eventully he will stop Outside dog? Kind of hard to keep outside as a puppy. He might be cold or lonely. Keep him inside for awhile if you can. If not keep his dog house warm and within sight. You shouldn't leave your puppy outside alone. When the dog is outside you should be outside with him, and then when you go in the house you should let him in the house. Dogs are very social animals, it's not good to isolate them especially when they are young.

Someone I know left his really cute pup outside all the time and someone stole the dog. My friend loved his dog and he was heartbroken-- he thought he wasn't doing anything wrong by leaving the dog alone so much, so he had to learn that lesson the hard way. If you go to him while he's howling he will learn that to get your attention he needs to howl. Instead try giving him lots of attention and praise when he is not howling. Always making sure he is safe and that the howl isn't an emergency situation that does require your attention (such as being caught under a fence or something). its normal for the first few months, he will get used to his surroundings. He wants someone to cuddle with. Dogs are socail animals. Why isn't he inside anyway?? He's a baby! I'd be howling too if I had to be outside so soon after meeting my new "family"! i did the same thing. too bad my dad gave it to someone else. i never got to spend time with it. i was 7 that time, too young to own a pet. i might get a new one when i'm more experienced with pets. yeah, you should go with him. or let him in he's just a pup and getting used to you, he's probably looking for his mother. my dog's pups did that alot. we gave one of them to the neigbor across the street and i swear ( i don't know how) but i heard little whimpers and i seen them both commimg down the street. my dog went to go get his pup back.. maybe your pup woke up and feels like playing,all pups do, give him a toy or something to keep entartain or take him to the park. also depending on what dog it is you take care of him. maybe it's too cold outside and he's a small dog for 6 weeks old. just not for him/ her to get use to sleeping in bed or eating human food, or doing what he wants . i remember my siberian husky use to nap in my bed when he was a pup. suddenly he grew to big and strong and would just jump in the bed whenever he felt like it. even when he was dirty and would not budge when we tried to carry him off. my other terrier would even stop eating her food and wanted human food or nothing. we had to stop giving her human food and left her doggy food until days later she finally ate it. my other mix rotweiler was just too hyper.. Howling is a bahavior that dog's do when they are seperated from their pack. They howl because they are trying to locate the lost members of their family. Your puppy is howling because he is seperated from his mother. He doesn't associate you as a pack member yet. You need to spend a lot of time with him ,and reassure him that you are now his new pack. It would probably be better if you could keep him inside a crate in a bathroom or the kitchen intil he gets older. Make sure you include in it a few stuffed dog toys and a blanket. Making him his own little space within the family will help him handle the new change in family dynamics much better. He's lonely in my opinion. He's howling to get back your attention. Just give him what is mostly needed but do not over pamper him. Discipline is strongly required but show the puppy some kindness and it's not longer afraid of you. But in this early stage, try to show more affection first.
