I am interested in buying Neon Tetras for my community Fish Tank. I have 2 Bala Sharks, and 2 Giant Danios, and a few other Large fish that are 1-3 inches. Neon Tetras are only 3 cm. Is it safe for me to put them in the same tank? or will they get Eaten? I put Snakeskin guppies in the tank, and they got Eaten, but I put a different species of Guppies, and they were'nt Eaten.

Shure but if they are babies that small make sure there is duckweed or some kind of plants at the top and bottom of the tank for them to hide in. soon they will be big enough. Just depends on the fish if they eat them or not. Some wont bother and some will eat anything small enough to eat no matter what kind of fish they are. If there is enough places to hide there wont be a problem. You should be askin this to the person at the pet store. There is also special babie grasses(plastic) you can buy for them I'm pretty sure they'd be shark-bait. Too small and "tasty" - I've had them disappear pretty fast in a community tank with larger fish. Please do not do that.you will be feeding all the rest of the fish. If you want to try though.make sure you have lots of places for them to hide, then put them in ONLY in the dark.. unless you put in enough to school, they will most likely get eaten by the more aggresive fish. Neon tetras tend to be timid and, because of their small size, should not be kept with large or aggressive fish who may bully or simply eat them.
Bala sharks are not quite aggressive in nature but, it does eat scrimps and tiny fish so it would be inappropriate to put them together.
