I once had a small catfish that I put in with my goldfish and each morning there was one fish less. I had to separate the catfish and put him in his own tank where he grew and grew on a diet of raw meat and insects. He's now a resident of London Zoo as he grew too big for his tank. So, as I was saying, they are a predatory fish and should not be kept with any thing you don't want eaten. (Cute though.) Catfish are pretty aggressive meat eaters and will attack just about anything, even themselves. You should probably separate them before somebody gets eaten. We used to get them from the lake and put them in the aquarium and they could get pretty vicious. b/c u cant put certain fish in a tank togher,the catfish will eat the goldfish Because you see a goldfish, he sees a snack. these people are wrong whats happening is the catfish is prolly just awl il bigger so its like a bird if u let it sit on your shoulder they get bossy and agressive cat fish are wvery mello fish ive had a whole tank of them If you can create a divisive environment, they will be fine. depends on the catfish, i guess you mean CAE or chinese algae eatter which tops out at about 12 inches and will attach to other fishes causing illness.
