Unplugged = plug it in. It maybe clog and that can stop the flow of water maby something is stuck in it a fish bowl filter will stop working if something gets in there or if the tank is dirty or stink the filter might need to get cleaned or the cord is not pluged in my filter ran dry so put more water in it is it the filter itself or the mechanism? sometimes they get clogged. You can dismantle it and clean it out but DO NOT USE SOAP unless you rinse very well. Try taking the mechanism to your local pet shop. Sometimes they're really nice and check it out for you so you don't have to buy a new one. Always remember to change your filters often. It may be clogged. Try changing the filter and plug it back in. Torn up !! get a new one!
