Answers:

a puppy or a kitten id go with somethign furry.girls dig that.like a hamster or chinchilla Do people have pet hedgehogs? adopt a spider you find in the apartment! I would pick a chameleon because it is cool and you can always show it off and impress people with it and it is not that ard to keep it up you should get a pet rat. I had pet rats as kid and they were awesome. They really get attached to you and they are sooo cute when they eat and clean themsleves. They are small and very good pets. A guinea pig, they are low maintenance and easy to take care of. My son has one and he is great. Chameleons are totally cool. I had a veiled chameleon, you just need to have the temperature right, and preferably a mister. They do eat a lot though. Reconsider.

Getting a pet in college is not a good idea. You will graduate and not have the time or money to deal with a pet while you are getting started in your career.

Trust me, I speak from experience.

If you have to have a pet, get one that won't live longer than your remaining college years, like a rat. Or a betta fish.

Reptiles tend to live a long time and Iguanas get to be 6 feet long, they have claws that scratch and damage stuff, they have a 4 foot long tail that they use as a whip when they get pissed. Chameleons are very fragile. Slamming a door can cause them to go into shock and die. Not to mention loud music and guests. Their skin is so fragile that petting them can cause it to tear. They have so many heat, light, food and humidity requirements that they become a "look only" pet, like fish tanks. They get sick and drop dead at the drop of a hat. Think long term. You may be in college now and while I understand wanting a pet.think long term. You may want to marry in 5-8 yrs. and your future spouse may not want a reptile. Also if you want to have kids some day -- they carry certain bacterias. Just something to consider. I think reptiles are icky and hedgehogs are cute but NOT cuddly. I recently got a hedgehog. They are really cool! I love mine. His name is Spike. They are sweet and have the most adorable faces! They like to interact with you (unlike lizards). Reptiles are not that smart.but hedgehogs are! They like to play. They sleep during the day when you are not at home, and in the evenings they like to come out and be with you. They like toys in their cages, and they don't make a big mess and are not smelly. I have two hamsters and they aren't really that hard to take care of.I'm selling mine for $35 when I got them for $75.Plus girls really like them because they are small soft cute and cuddly.Hamster would be great. But if you prefer a reptile I'd say a lizard of some kind because they aren't hard to care for either.Just change their water and feed them every day and your good.Oh,and clean their cage once in a while. id go with the hedgehog or iguana. but rabbits r da bomb! I have a cat in my apartment. Eek is spoiled, everyone likes her, she does not go outside and my apartment does not smell like cat. So get a pet that does not smell or keep them very clean. Iguana grow big; if you lose your chameleon in your apartment could you find it before it dies? Hedgehogs are cute, ut I don't know much about them. If you decide that you don't like one of the pets what are you going to do?

When I graduate, Eek goes with me. Maybe a reptile or amphibian might be a good choice, opposed to a dog, cat, or aquarium. You should look for a pet that is very low maintenance. An aquarium is completely out of the question because you have to constantly monitor the PH of the water. Any reptile or amphibian would be a feasible choice because all you have to do is feed it once every two days, depending on the pet, and keep the temperature hot, if it's a reptile. Amphibians require more care. Maybe get a snake and feed it a mouse that you stole from the science lab. Ha ha. Lizard
