How upset will she be? Will her life be shortened by being in a different environment? Will she miss me or will she adapt?

she'll be fine, don't worry. Just ask your parents to continue the same routine that you did with her and play with her a little each day. And make sure she sleeps enough. Amitabha. She may be shy at first but will be fine. The only concern you sould have is she may just get use to you parents and not remamber you or that your parents may take care of her diffrently. If your hamster is old you may come back with no hamster.
