Wolf, or coyote.?

i thought it was not to look them in the eye, keeping you head below theirs. this shows submision i think anyone will give you lots of space to try this. no one is going to volunteer to be a tester here. I doubt it though as another animal goes into the submissive position when he knows he is loosing the fight, thats usually when a wild animal (such as wolf or coyote) realizes he has the upper hand and the fight is usually over as the stronger, more aggresive animal will fight till the death If I am submissive then they would be the agresser. Hmmm I don't agree with what you said. I sure wouldn't want to take a chance. With bears, (not grizzlies as they are down right evil)they say to look as big as possible with legs spread..arms over head spread wide and eyes glaring ..to look mean..haha. Gosh, don't wanna be there either. I live in the southeastern Wisconsin countryside. We don't have wolves by me although we do have coyotes. The coyotes have become SO bold they will stand 20 feet away from you.

People have started to complain and some wildlife agency has suggested that people start threatening the animals. I have personally acted like a complete fool and chased two of them off by waving my arms and screaming like a banshee.

I would think that if you layed on your back they would think you were submissive but I don't think that would stop them from attacking you. I don't think I'm gonna try laying on my back, I think I'll continue chasing them off! LOL Well, first of all, coyotes are a very skiddish animal. they spook very easily and do not get close to humans but very rarely.

wolves, on the other hand, are pack hunters. if they approach you, they are wanting one thing, to eat! And i don't think i would be willing to lay down and give them a free meal! I wouldn't do it. it does show that you are submissive, but that doesn't mean they won't attack. I don't know what to do when you see one, we only have foxes here and they will run if they see a human. I don't know about wolves,but it works with my girlfriend. You're assuming that they're seeing you as a challenging equal, not as a prey species. You best choice if confronted is to let them know you're bigger, stronger, meaner. Make it not worth the risk of injury to try an attack on you. It's the same with dogs
