On a serious note, its not harmful - some consider it just tasteless Humans can eat animal food. We are just not accustomed to the taste and smell. And the nutrition value may exceed or not meet that of the humans. Otherwise we can consume them. Ofcourse one must consider that since they are for the animal the criteria for safety and health is different. The food may contain certain microscopic lifeform that may not be harmful to an animal for the difference in their immunity, composition of their digestive juices, etc.
