Only very perverted people love other species or sub-species. It is not healthy or natural to keep animals in the house. Certainly fish or hamsters in a cage will do no harm but dogs and cats should be kept outdoors. It is natural for people to like dogs and cats and other animals and to develop affection for them. It can get carried away for very lonely people of low IQ and or people who have had their thinking and instincts perverted. Look at it like this, pets are the only thing that will love you unconditionally and will never let you down, you know exactly what you are getting. There are no hidden ajenda's, no backstabbing. With them what you see is what you get and it is that simple. And yes they do get arthritis, but not as often as humans do. You wouldn't know what to do with yourself if someone treated you as good as we pet lovers treat out pets. Pets get arthritis for the same reasons humans do. it's a joint condition. Pet owners (as myself - 3 cats, 2 dogs), love their pets as they give unlimited unconditional love. How can one NOT be in love when you look into those innocent eyes? Obviously you aren't a pet lover. and seriously, why do you really care? pets are another pal. People love their pets because animals don't do things like lie, cheat, steal, backstab or otherwise hurt the people close to them. Animals provide love without asking for anything in return except that you care for them. Animals don't care if you're neurotic, fat, ugly, or a superstar. They love you for you, which is FAR less than what people give to each other.
