Even if it is legal in Colorado there may be local regulations. 6 feet seems a little extreme, especially for Colorado which is (as far as I know) a bit more lax on exotic pet regulations. Where I live (Illinois) the max. legal size is 14 feet (I think). Dont think so. most likely but i wouldnt know sorry go to a animal shelter and ask them i live in Illinois and i contacted my city hall about permits for my pythons they directed me somewhere else and said as long as they were under 6 feet i did not need a permit so check with your city hall no you just have to keep it in a cage that is 2 times as big as the snake I have no idea!! ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

i want any type of info about Steve irwin for buiolt site i think you do and you can get it at an animal place i think that it is required in all states due to a total moran who had a larger snake and not using his brain to hold the snake that size proper has made it required to either donate them to a zoo or go through hell getting a license. Ask your city counsel that you live in or state odnr. My city is 20 feet and none for county (this is for non posionous snakes) Alot of places don't alow them at all unless you have a permit. I just had to fight about this a couple of years ago. I got to keep my 4 snakes.
