well done to you for having kept your beardie so healthy for so long! In captivity 12 years old is exceptional, 14 is nearly unheard of except in professional herpetology, and even then it's rare! You are an awesome reptile owner and should be very very proud! Uhhhh huh. Well the chinese thought they once had 1 in captivity in the chinese mountains in 1994 and that 1 lived for 37/8 years ? When I had mine I was told 6 - 8 years and he lived 7. So yours is really getting up there. It's cool though to know that they may live longer. the average age is 6-10, however i have heard of beardies living longer. The oldest one i have ever heard of was 12. Unfortunatly, It may be nearing his time :( That is pretty old for a beardie. Congrats on having one that lived to be an old fart! One of my beardies is 8, and i thought he was an old fart! the average life span for a bearded dragon is about 10-12 yrs. so your is going good but yeah they will slow down the older they get. i have 2 of them and they are about 10yrs old and it all depends on how they are cared for. so with yours being 14 yrs old that is great news. so just give him all your love and just make him comfortable til the end. good luck with your baby.
