Nerve response, Next question, Why do you want to kill them? as long as it is not posionous, leave it alone, it will keep all types of non wanted varmits off of your property. If it is a pit viper use a hoe to keep your distance and take it's head off. If you live in the country, a .410 shotgun with #6 shot works great. Snakes still wither after they are dead due to thier bodys are always rejuvenating and nerves throughtout it's body. Just like they grow knew skins all the time under the one you see exists. The only way I have ever heard of killing a snake is to chop the head off but you have to catch it and I hope either way you are faster that it is. Of course you could shoot it if you were taught how to handle guns but again it is not a big target. Still have to be accurate and wuick. When it dies, the nervous system continues to send electricel impulse to the muscles and nerves, causing them to move.

You shouldn't kill animals unless you plan on eating them except for the case of self defence or the defence of another!

Dont just kill snakes. They are more afraind of you than you are of them. i catch them with my bare hands often.. I have scars from a night adder bite and from a Chinese rat snake. I am still alive and well, so chill out and leave the cute little snakeys alone! Watch out for rattlesnakes or mambas and cobras. a black mamba is the only snake that will chase a person. They have a really bad temper. Dont shoot at a black mamba unless you can hit it first time. i know from experience! I missed my first shot and before i could aim again it was a few meters closer! they are fast! But i doubt you will ever see a black mamba! not sure this is true but i have been told they live till nite fall?? the after death movements are its nerves and to all who have ways to kill snakes NEVER KILL A FING SNAKE there here for a reason. they have a job to do they dont whant to hurt you (your too big to eat) even venemous snakes will not harm you unless you are screwing with it. 99.9% of the time people are bit it is there fault not the snakes ive kept many snakes in my time venemous and not, and still do. ive had my share of bites and every one has been my fault. all a snake whants to to is eat and breed when you infringe on there territory it becomes your fault. if its in your house call animal control they will capture it and release it back in the wild iT TAKES A WHILE FOR THE NERVES TO DIE. WE HAVE AN IGUANA AND WHEN HE WAS A BABY, HE BROKE OFF HIS TAIL, IT KEPT WIGGLING AROUND LIKE A SNAKE, TOTALLY DEPARTED FROM HIS BODY, HE GREW A NEW ONE THOUGH, BUT IT WAS THE NERVES IN IT.
