NO! It seems like it would be easier to help him, but this is something they must accomplish on their own, as removing skin by force could cause wounds and/or infection. Only remove the skin once it has been completely shedded. If it was hard for him hed get out. he probablly feels safer in there thats why hes doing it in there. id say just keep a watch on him make sure hes doing ok. he still is a wild animal and they have there own way of doing things. just keep a watch on him but other then that you really shouldnt do anything special. I'd leave the hide box in there. He might need it in there to rub against to help him shed. Make sure you keep him moist in there so it isn't a dry shed. Nope. Just mist it lightly I assume you have a decent sized rock in his cage that he can rub against. If so, that's all he needs. If not, get one and it will help a lot. Good luck! He should be fine. The best way to help your snake shed is to make sure he has a water bowl large enough to submerge his body. the water will help soften the skin and make it easier for him to shed, he would also benefit from some rough stones or logs. If there is'nt enough moisture in his tank he might have trouble, but most snakes do just fine. Look to see if the skin comes off in mostly one piece or bunches of tiny pieces. He an be soaked in luke warm water for 30 minutes or so and his skin will slip off easy. Use something plastic you can see through with air holes and a lid you can secure. Keep adding water to warm it. Just don,t cook him. no just leave it til he is done. he will come out of his hide box when he is done. you need to let him finish shedding or if you bother him now he will not shed right. you can check on him in the morning the next day. also just make sure you keep water in there for him. i have a breeding pair of ball pythons and when they shed i leave them be for at least 1-2 days, and all that is in the tank for them is the water. also to when you notice that he is getting ready to shed the next time the good thing is to start to soak him in a bucket with luke warm water because this will make it easier for him to shed and his sheding time will go faster. No. He obviously feels save in the hide so leave I would leave him be. it should only take about 20 minutes to an hour for the snake to shed his skin. if your husbandry is right then he should be shedding in one whole piece. If he is shedding in a bunch of pieces then your humidity is to low and you need to do something to fix the problem.. one of my favorite methods is the humidity box.
