And as to not being handled for a long time, yes, it should get used to being handled again. Remember, he has a brain the size of a walnut (I'm trying to be generous here). He won't remember a lot about what happened, or didn't, before. Buy a book that explains ball pythons, seriously. If you have this many questions about how to care for it, I recommend Barron's book of pythons. It costs about 10 bucks in a pet store or amazon. You shouldn't have got it if you know nothing about them. Sorry, don't mean to be a jerk about it, but it is a very good companion for a beginner herper like yourself. Yahoo q and a is not a good source for raising reptiles. Granted we do know what we are talking about here but a book will cover any questions you may have from caging to breeding.
