Because we like what we relate to and dislike what we don't. And evolutionarily speaking, the snake and scorpion lovers were more frequently weeded out over the past million years. because some people are ignorant they r ignorant scared or fearful of it Xenophobia.

And they kind of make boring pets. Maybe because uneducated people insist on calling them things like scaly green sticky icky reptiles. For the record. Most reptiles are neither sticky nor icky. Some people hate them because they don't take the time to get to know the creatures and just automatically stereotype them as "sticky and icky". You know, like saying all Asians are smart. It doesn't make any sense. People fear what they don't understand. In the age of information we live in now that makes absolutely no sense. People can see inside of comets and learn anything they want to know thanks to the internet. And some people say snakes are slimy for some reason.
