Being an atheist just means you're normal. Personally, I'm agnostic. I don't trust that others have had "real" experiences with god but I don't think you can prove that there is no god. And even if I had an experience with god, can you really trust yourself given how easy it is to be crazy these days? denial of the existence of god or gods and of any supernatural existence. some people think theyre atheist but are reallu agnostic, which holds that the existence cannot be proved. if youre agnostic youre on the fence if theres a god or not.
