Which hamster is the slowest of ..

Brief：
I adopted a gerbil from petco, but it is so crazy!! And way too speedy!! I cant even try to hold it!! I am wondering which HAMSTER is the slowest??!! .. 

I adopted a gerbil from petco, but it is so crazy!! And way too speedy!! I can't even try to hold it!! I am wondering which HAMSTER is the slowest??!! My friends have a dwarf hamster, and that one is pretty slow!! Is that a good choice!?!!? Please Help!!!!!!!!!!...

I'm pretty sure a dwarf hamster is pretty slow Well first of all, compared to a Gerbil almost all hamsters will be easier to hold. But really, the speed of the hamster depends on it's personality. I have two Winter White Dwarf hamsters from the same litter. One is always squirming in your hands, while the other pretty much holds still. But when put in their running wheel or ball, they are the exact opposite! The only way to tell how a hamster will be when you hold it is to ask to hold it at the pet store or breeders. Where it's not really certain if a Dwarf hamster or a Teddy Bear hamster will be faster or slower, bigger hamsters are easier to handle. I would suggest you hold a bunch of different hamsters at the pet store or breeders that meet your requirements, and then decide. A dead one of course Usually dwarf hamsters are most active out of the 2 hamster species, but some are nice and slow

I do know that almost all serian hamsters ive owned have been slow movers, except one who never really quite tamed down

I would suggest a serian hamster to you because they are bigger, hence easier to hold, and usually much slower than a dwarf Syrian hamsters are the slowest and easiest to hold because they are big.

My Syrian hamster got free a few times when he was new and it was easy for me to catch him. Syrians (a.k.a Teddy Bear Hamsters) are larger, so easier to hold.

They are also not all that fast, so if you drop it or it escapes you should be able to catch it fairly easy. syrians are the easiest to handle, but none are slow, dwarfs are highstrung and nervous.
