Will sand baths work for a panda..

Brief：
I heard that you can bathe dwarf hamsters in chinchilla sand so they wont smell as bad. I also heard you can add some vanillia essence. Is that true? .. 

I heard that you can bathe dwarf hamsters in chinchilla sand so they won't smell as bad. I also heard you can add some vanillia essence. Is that true? And will my panda hamster like a sand bath as much and a dwarf hamster? Help!!

yup i have a panda bear hammy and her name is oreo and she is so silly.my hammy will go in and just roll over and everything and then she comes out with her face all white and not black i think it is so cute!!so yes u can they get the extra stuff off later but they look so silly and it works for them and makes them fluffy as ever!=)i have a dwarf and a panda and thy both love it and i dont see why they wouldnt?here she is!!=)

hope i helped!! only chinchillas require the sand bath- if you keep their cage clean so they are not lying in their own urine and feces and use the crittercare bedding they shouldnt smell. i have never had an issue w/ my rodents smelling. do not use pine or cedar- it gets in their lungs and causes resp. infections that kills them. Sand Baths are made for Chinchillas and Gerbils because of the type of fur they have, they are desert animals and cannot be bathed with water...

Many people use it for dwarfs because it's too hard to bathe a dwarf hamster...

A syrian will most likely not do anything with the sand bath, and it's not really good for them.

If you are having an issue with a dirty hamster, you should bathe him with water and small animal shampoo...
