As a Christian Scientist I tend towards the Gaia hypothesis, which regards the earth and all within as a single interconnected organism. Seen from this viewpoint it would seem unecessary and even unlikely that the next visit from the Messiah will be in Human form. I feel it is entirely possible that the Messiah is amongst us even now. He could even be watching over us in the guise of an Eagle or even a humble Gerbil. The Lord moves in mysterious wheels. A recent news report appears to support my contention:

I tay good odds that the Messiah will come as a Gerbil or possible a Hamster, but he could return as a Mouse - a white, dangerous mouse. THe Bible is pretty clear. He will come as Himself as he left. I was raised in CS as well. The Messiah is indeed here, he is inseparable from all of us, as there are no limitations of space time or our perception of "reality". How could He return if He never left? The only true reality is spirit. I don't remember talking about the "Messiah" in CS... are you sure you are...? The question is do you believe in the Bible? I would find it odd to believe in the Messiah if you did not believe the teachings in the BIble. The bible teaches that Christ will come in a glorious display after the battle of armaggedon. He will come in the form of a human. I don't think there's alot of room for argument.
